Mathias Schneider – Independent Swiss Watchmaker
As a student, I was already fascinated by the CURTA calculator. After more than 15 years as a development engineer for renowned watch companies, I founded my own watch workshop in 2015.
In recent years, my team and I have developed the CURTA watch as a tribute to Curt Herzstark. This watch combines the design and functionality of the CURTA calculator and includes six original CURTA components. For collectors, it is an intriguing addition to the calculator.
The watch is crafted in our own Swiss workshop. The case, crown, and clasp all feature the characteristic CURTA knurling.
Each watch is made with artisanal precision - Swiss Made in Bülach!

As the granddaughter of Curt Herzstark, I am delighted to continue the story of the CURTA alongside Mathias Schneider and his team. My memories of my grandfather are closely tied to his life’s work. He lived in Liechtenstein, and during my vacations, I often visited him. He would show me his invention, and together, we would solve small calculations with the CURTA.
Over the past 30 years, the CURTA has become a sought-after collector’s item. My grandfather would be pleased to see his work still so appreciated.
In addition to selling and servicing the CURTA, M. Schneider’s workshop has developed a watch that honors Curt Herzstark.
